10 years on…

So, Trav and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with a fairly packed day of sightseeing. When we got toward dinner, we tried to think of a place to eat that was convenient (not across a town of 10 million people, for instance) but also special. We thought about a Gordon Ramsay, but already went to one. Thought about the Chelsea Potter, a pub frequented by Mick Jagger and thenRolling Stones, but it was pretty far out of the way. Trav suggested Barbecue, as we had Texas-style Barbecue at our wedding. It sounded good to me, and to make it easier, there was a BBQ spot just down from our hotel, called Bodean's Barbecue.

By the time our sightseeing day was finished, even if it wasn't fantastic (yelp reviews were mixed) I would be pleased. We entered to the smell of a smokehouse. We ordered the 2 person sharing board of burnt ends, pulled pork, baby back ribs, St. Louis ribs, chicken leg quarters, coleslaw, and fries. Not only was it a massive amount of food, it was also excellent. The meat was smoky, well-seasoned, well-sauced, and perfectly tender. The coleslaw had a nice kick of horseradish, and complemented the pork well.

Though our wedding served baron of beef, turkey, and spicy sausage, we agreed that this was a good alternative. Trav commented that aside from what I cook at home on our smoker, this was the best barbecues he's had in a long time. I'm inclined to agree. Imagine that. Good southern-style Barbecue in Merry Olde Londone Towne.
