Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Every time we've come to London before we've missed "The Rolling Stones: Exhibitionism". The first time, it wasn't open yet. The second, it had just closed for the traveling show. To add insult to injury, it came to New York City, but wasn't open when we were there in September.

We had no better luck this time (I believe it's in Chicago, as of this writing), but instead saw "Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains". It was a fantastic experience with integrated videos, moving artifacts, pop culture touchpoints referenced in the music and of course, the music itself. I have liked Pink Floyd for many years, but understanding the music and that the music was written to reference specific forces on the world, makes it seem more like a rock opera than just sometimes strange music.

As Roger Watters doesn't get along with the rest of the group, and there are only 2 other members of the group left living, their last live performance was in 1994, which it will remain for the foreseeable future. This exhibit is the closest I'll come to seeing one of my favorite groups live. Even though I keep missing The Rolling Stones exhibit, I have at least seen them live.
